We built our new home in 2008 in Gastonia, NC. In 2019, the original equipment shower had seen better days.
It was time to remodel the master bathroom.
Our objective was to take out the glass shower stall and separate tub, and make one large walk-in shower.
No more “glass” doors that you can no longer see through and goodbye to the plastic basin shower floor that can never be cleaned.
We put together a sketch diagram of what we wanted and made a few local calls to get contractor bids on the project.
We received call-backs from three.
We spoke with all three and had two of them visit to review details and provide a quote.
Both seemed experienced and knew what they were talking about, providing competitive quotes for the remodel.
We went with Chuck Rhoden through America’s Choice Contractors because he worked with us on the price and provided experienced input on the design.
The work involved gutting out the shower and tub areas from cement slab to stud walls.
Laying new cement slab floor, building shower wall, re-plumbing, and tiling floor and walls of the bathroom.
We also included a granite countertop with under mount sink, along with a granite wall cap waterfall design along the new shower wall.
This was a custom design remodel that started with our detailed sketch and finalized with Chuck and his Team’s experienced construction knowledge.
Chuck and his team were very professional and cleaned-up after each day.
They kept their equipment and supplies in a designated area, which made it easy for us to live a somewhat normal life during this remodel.
Chuck’s Team worked M-F from about 8AM-5PM, and checked-in with us prior to any scheduling changes.
Chuck’s Team involved us in many aspects along the way, so that the spirit of the custom design was maintained and met our needs.
We worked closely with Chuck’s Team during the fine details and when all of the finishing’s were being installed, allowing for adjustments and approvals before all was complete.
The project ran a bit longer than originally planned, with a Holiday in the middle, but it was worth it.
The final result was exactly as we had hoped, and met all our expectations.
We are very pleased with our custom design “new” master bathroom.

My Husband and I bought an older home in 2010 that needed to be brought up to code which included new plumbing, electrical upgrade, heat/ air system installed. The inside of the home had to be gutted and refinished. We added a 2nd bathroom upstairs. The entire house looks wonderful. My kitchen granite countertops are immaculate.I love the look of my ceramic tile floors that flow from my dining room to kitchen to the laundry room.I was pleased with the time it took and was very excited when we moved into our finished home.

This company has been around for years and has a 10 year warranty on their work. They price matched a different company for us and based on their warranty life we want with them. The workers have gone above and beyond fixing things that needed to be done without additional cost.
I am now on my 4th time of having chuck and his crew remodel my homes. The first was a complete remodel down to the framing (we sold it a year later while still making money.) our current house we wanted so much done we have had the come do parts as we could afford it. We have had kitchen , bathrooms , walls removed in the downstairs and walls added. Besides the bad weather we have had it has all ran smoothly. The workers clean up their work every day, allow me walk through and updates. I will continue to use them for all my future remodels.

We needed a new living room wood floor, bathroom remodel and outdoor pavers with firepit and benches. This remodel could not of gone smoother. There group always showed up on time and they did the most beautiful work. They even did some little extra things that were not included in the contract. We are enjoying our new look and love America’s Choice Contractors!
Overall great experience. We had all of our floors redone and a frameless shower installed. Chuck and Jenny are true to their words and go above and beyond to ensure their customer’s needs and wants are met. Rick and his crew installed a frameless shower and did an outstanding job. We are extremely satisfied finished products. Chuck, Jenny, Rick and his crew are all honest, polite, hardworking and dedicated to their customers.
